The RegioData building power index or construction purchasing power index (synonyms: market potential or expenditure volume) of a country represents the portion of retail-relevant purchasing power that private individuals spend on goods related to construction, remodeling, renovation, and gardening.

Construction purchasing power refers to the ability of an individual or a household to purchase these product groups within a given period using the financial resources available to them. The index indicates deviations from the national average level of prosperity (set at 100).
