Retail area in Hungary

Our analysis below deals with the retail area in Hungary. The map shows the retail density (sqm per inhabitant) in the regions.

The highest amount of retail areas can be found in the capital Budapest and the surroundings. The development in those regions is continuing on a very high level. Other regions are stalled or grow only to a very small extent - especially the eastern regions.

Regarding density (sqm per inhabitant) two other regions are in the lead - Gyõr-Moson-Sopron und Veszprém. The region of Gyõr-Moson-Sopron lies close to the Austrian border and offers a lot for Austrian customers and the tourism region of Veszprém (Balaton lake) offer the largest amount of retail area per inhabitant.

The two northeastern Regions Nógrád and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg show a rather low density.
